If you are a first-time reader, welcome to Lora and Erics RV Adventure Blog. You can read about us at http://www.LoraandEricsRVAdventure.com. We started in December 2017 with a goal to complete 49 states before heading home to North Carolina.
Due to limited access to internet service and Verizon hotspot in Canada and Alaska we will be adding photos as we can. In the mean time we will continue to provide our RV adventure at each phase of our RV adventure in text.
We crossed 3 states in one trip in order to camp at Breaks Interstate Park. We fill up the tank in Greensboro, IN 45 minutes into our transition. We are on schedule to visit Daniel on his birthday, September 25. He will be turning 22 years of age.
Our initial plan was to camp close to Pikeville, KY. Our old neighbor and friend Krista live in Pikesville with her husband Todd and children. Krista informed us they were camping at Breaks Interstate Park on the Virginia boarder with her sons Cub Scott troop. The weather is supposed to be dismal for the next two days. We book for 2 nights so we can arrive in Charlotte the day before Daniels birthday and not give away we are in North Carolina on the 24th and 25th.
The travel time from CERAland Park in Columbus, IN to Breaks Interstate Park in Breaks, VA is 5h 37m (330 mi). We take the longer route in order to capture 2 other states.

On this trip we enter the Appalachian Mountains. Our last mountains we seen, we the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The road is not too bad, but requires some caution going around turns. We reach Breaks Interstate Park in the rain. We are given a site above the Cub Scoot camp.
Breaks Interstate Park is a state run park. The park is deep in the woods. It has a water park, scenic drive, lodge, cabins, and campground. The campground is broken into letter sections. The bathrooms are far apart and not in all zones which is a bit challenging. There are bear and deer in the area.
Krista and the children come up to our site and hang out around the fire. The children are able to watch some local TV. As it gets later in the evening Todd takes back the youngest and Krista and Ethan stay overnight out of the rain. The next morning, they returned down to the Troop camp and begin to pack up. We are staying for one more day.
Before Krista and Todd leave, we agree to visit their home in Pikeville. Krista offered to pick us up and return us later. Later in the day Krista returns and we head back to Pikeville. She shows us the hospital Todd works add, a few homes above their home before visiting their home.
We all go out for a late lunch to Peking Hibachi in Pikeville. The restaurant is a regular stop for Krista and Todd. The kids love to see the hibachi cook do his tricks while he cooks. It was a great short stay with Krista and Todd. We really felt they enjoy where they live and the good Todd is doing for the community.
After Krista drops us off at the campground, Lora and I start a fire in the pit to finish our firewood. The next 2 places we travel to do not allow campfires.
The rain continues throughout the evening and into the morning. We pack up in a mix of rain and mist before heading out. We are heading toward Charlotte, NC.
