If you are a first-time reader, welcome to Lora and Erics RV Adventure Blog. You can read about us at http://www.LoraandEricsRVAdventure.com. We started in December 2017 with a goal to complete 49 states before heading home to North Carolina.
Due to limited access to internet service and Verizon hotspot in Canada and Alaska we will be adding photos as we can. In the mean time we will continue to provide our RV adventure at each phase of our RV adventure in text.
Today we are headed to Columbus, Indiana, headquarters of Cummins Inc. I worked for Cummins Inc as a Worldwide Customer Engineering Engineer, Manager, Product Support Team Leader, and Fan Hub Engineering Standard Work owner, before being laid off in 2015 after 15 years. I have no regrets for my work ethic and integrity while working. When management opinions and work ethic differ, changes occur. In my case it meant my departure.
I have made many friends and acquaintances at work, more than any of my previous employers.
The Cummins engine is top of the line. We purchased a 2017 Ram 3500 Cummins Diesel for our RV Adventure. It is one investment we are please to have made.
The travel time from Waterloo/Lost Island Waterpark KOA Resort in Waterloo, IA to CERAland Park in Columbus, IN is 7h 17m (491 mi).

CERAland Park is a Cummins Inc owned park. The park has a golf course, campground, pools, gun range, event center, etc. It is open to the public and requires a fee to enter or you can get a year long pass. The camp sites are a decent size. The power and water hookups are in an awkward location and requires extra power extensions and hoses. Unfortunately, many RV’ers do not carry power extensions.
We are meeting John and Gaye. I used to work with John at Cummins. He retired in 2017 from Cummins and now works for an AI company. We decide to go out to dinner. John and Gaye meet us at the campground. We have dinner at Carino's Italian Restaurant in Columbus and enjoy a wonderful evening together.
We need to hit the road tomorrow to keep on schedule. We had decided a few days earlier to surprise our son Daniel on his birthday. He is attending UNCC in Charlotte, NC so we need to be nearby by September 25th. Tomorrow we also will visit with Krista and Todd in Pikeville, KY.
