If you are a first-time reader, welcome to Lora and Erics RV Adventure Blog. You can read about us at http://www.LoraandEricsRVAdventure.com. We started in December 2017 with a goal to complete 49 states before heading home to North Carolina
Its nice to have friends visit, but it is nice to be back to our own schedule. We do not plan to do much for the next couple of days except get the truck serviced and Lora's periodontist appointment on the 15th of May. We started the day with my appointment at Chapman Las Vegas Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for an oil change and vehicle check. This is our first oil change on the truck. The mileage is 13,000 and 16% to go before an oil and fuel filter change. The appointment was for 7:30 am. The dealership is just a 2 minute drive and 5 minute walk from the campground. After getting back from the dealership I started with the laundry and cleaning up the camper. We did 3 loads of laundry: sheets, cloths and carpets. By 11:00 am the dealership called and said the truck was ready. After paying a tad over $500.00 I
After finishing up everything I suggested a brunch.
I researched Google and TripAdvisor for options. I wanted to visit a buffet without breaking the bank. I found very good ratings for the Wicked Spoon Buffet at The Cosmopolitan. The parking at The Cosmopolitan is free for visitors and guest before May 11. The cost after for 1-4 hours is $7.00.
OMG! What a meal. The buffet is amazing to experience. The price is more than I would like to pay, about $33.00 per person, but the reviews and experience from the authors enticed me to recommend the buffet to my wife. There is nearly always a wait according to the reviews. We went on a Monday at 11:30 am and had a 15 minute wait. It is all well worth the wait. We were here for the brunch menu. There is so much to eat and see. The portions bowls are just right to allow for more sampling of food versus filling your plate with a few items. The carving station was fantastic, sushi fantastic, breakfast, desert, pasta, you name it. If you want to experience a Buffet, this is the one you should visit.
We walked around The Cosmopolitan after eating a great lunch.
We went to the Aria for a little bit before heading back to the truck.
We verified the address of the dentist office Lora is supposed to visit tomorrow by driving to the address so that we know where it is. Luckily it is only 18 minutes from the campground.
The day was not full of excitement, but we were satisfied with what we did. We have one more full day before we head to California.
Our last full day is to be spent at Periodontist Office of Dr. Jeffery Wang, DDS and Hygienist Andie Irons. Lora was nervous in the morning. What did not help was our mail package was not here. We text Harriet for a tracking number. Instead of a tracking number we got pictures of a package which was the license plate from our Reefer Truck and a DMV letter. I called DMV to let them know I lost the plate on April 12 via the Lost Plate form I emailed to DMV. She had on record the plate was lost. She said to disregard the letter. I was lucky to get a letter, many do not.
Harriet finally came back in a text the mail would not come till Thursday. Not a good thing since we leave Wednesday at 10:00 am. I asked her to re-direct the mail to a new address. She later came back they cannot do that and the package will be returned to Harriot. I will let the campground know if the package arrives to write Return to Sender and ship back out. The issue I have is our DMV sticker expires on May 18th, so after that we are out of date until we get a new sticker.
We left for Lora’s appointment 30 minutes before her scheduled 1:00pm meeting. We arrived in a short 11 minutes. The paper work I emailed was not here, so I sent it again. The first time I sent the email through Lora’s email. They had my email on file so it may have been treated as spam. We sat for a few minutes and they took Lora back. I waited for about 30 minutes. She came back feeling nice. She had her second appointment at 2:00 for a deep cleaning. I left for Sam’s Club to get dog food, coffee and some other items. I returned and sat in the office for another 30 minutes. Lora came out all happy. She had a good checkup and Dr Wang and Andie were great people. They loved the adventure we are living. Andie has a Class A motor coach so familiar with RV living.
We are ending our trip to Las Vegas, NV tomorrow. It was hot, but at the end we had a good time. We behaved and had friends visit. The advantage of having Dr Wang here in Las Vegas, there is always a cheep flight to Las Vegas. If Lora needs a checkup in August while in Alaska she can fly back to Las Vegas.
Tomorrow we head to Twenty nine Palms, California for one night before heading to Julian, California where the weather is in the 70’s°F during the day and 40’s°F.
