If you are a first-time reader, welcome to Lora and Erics RV Adventure Blog. You can read about us at http://www.LoraandEricsRVAdventure.com. We started in December 2017 with a goal to complete 49 states before heading home to North Carolina.

Due to limited access to internet service and Verizon Hotspot in Canada and Alaska we will be adding photos as we can. In the mean time we will continue to provide our RV adventure at each phase of our RV adventure in text.

Leaving our new homestead in Salcha to return to North Carolina was never our goal on this journey and blog. We desired to visit the remaining Western Lower 48 States before wintering in Arizona. In the Spring we would finish the remaining Eastern states before heading back to North Carolina. Our faith and trust in God and belief in each other to make the right decisions keeps us strong.

Our mindset has definitely changed from having fun, learning about cultures, meeting new friends, and telling our story to getting back to North Carolina by mid-October. We have allotted 30 days for travel. We have accepted an invitation to our nephew Jimmy's wedding in Virginia Beach, VA on October 20th. Our son Phillip will be filming the wedding.

Our journey begins to our first destination in Alaska arriving in July. Tok is a stop over for many of the RV Touring Companies. There is limited sites and restaurants to visit in ToK, Ak. The city is dependent on tourism, primarily campers and tourists traveling along the Alaska Highway.

From Salcha to Tok RV Village Campground & Cabins in Tok, AK is 2h 43m (163 miles). We make it in 3 hours. We begin to see the fresh mountain snow on the mountain tops. The clear day makes the drive amazing.

We make it to Tok, AK just after dusk. The campground is on a Winter Schedule. A large portion of the campground is shut down. The only bathroom and show facilities is in the main office building. I decide to do our laundry while Lora relaxes.

We get our first temperature in the 20°F's. The office manager suggests we fill our water tanks and then unhook the water lines to prevent freezing. This is the first time we heard of such a suggestion. To our surprise it worked.

It may be our Grand Design Reflection Climate Package, but we are now confident we can use the propane and power and not freeze in the 20°F's.

We stayed connected over night, so we were able to wake up and go. Out next destination is back into Canada along the Alaska Highway.
